"Platters" Halal truck on 58 & 6th. You gotta be ready to stand in line with a lot of hungry New Yorkers but its well worth it for a platter of lamb (or chicken) over rice with salad, pita bread, hot sauce, and special white sauce all for $5. Damn now I have to go get me one tonight.|||MARS 2112 (GOOD FOR THE KIDS) IN TIMES SQUARE|||I would back up mrhinesmith1's answer of Mars 2112. We went there with our kids(5 and 7 years old)and had a good time. Food was good for the price.|||Corner Bistro
Tavern on the Green
Gramercy Park
Carmine's

and for dessert, I love Rice to Riches in Chinatown!|||Katz's Delicatessen
Ruby Foo
Angelo's of Mulberry Street
the real original Ray's pizza place in Greenwich Village
Sylvia's
Gray's Papaya
Nathan's in Coney Island
Veselka
Any halal food cart that's always busy (so you know it's fresh & tasty). OK, it's not really a "tourist restaurant" but it's a typical NYC meal.|||The McDonald's at 160 Broadway (link 1); Johnny Rockets at 42 E. 8th St. (2); any of the restaurants in Times Square along 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues.
