My friends and I are going to NYC in May and we were looking for a really cool restaurant to go to. We were going to go to Mars 2112 but we heard that it was overpriced and not too good. Can you think of any other restaurants with a theme or something really cool? We're college students so we arent the richest people in the world.
I would like to avoid:
Planet Hollywood
Hard Rock Cafe (2 hour wait last time were there!)
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.|||WOO LAE DAK
Korean BBQ menu.
148 mercer st . SOHO
212-925-8200
It's one of my favorites restaurants in NYC,
It was so much fun to cook by myself (with my boyfriend) on the grill.|||Go to Pastis in the Meatpacking District. It's so chic there and the restaurant is always jumpin'! The food is great!
Stay away from all those tourist traps you mentioned!|||Try Mcdonalds. Ive heard really good things.|||Yaffa is pretty cool 20's I believe on the lower east side. Night of the Cookers in Brooklyn (I think Fulton Street, They have a website)
I really like Yaffa's.|||Ellen's Stardust Diner...this place is awesome! All the servers are trying to get onto Broadway and so while you're eating, they take turns singing and dancing. This is the best form of "free" talent that I know of there. The food is pretty good too...kind of a catch-all American diner. Its right on the corner of Broadway and 51st, so right by Times Square and lots of other cool stuff. www.ellensstardustdiner.com|||Butter- it may be a little expensive though..|||Try Il Vagabondo's. It has an indoor bocce court! It looks like an old NYC restaurant, which it is, and it's relatively inexpensive...
Have fun!
