We are going to Las Vegas and still need to find a good hotel. I've read the reviews of the PH and Hard Rock and they both seem to be great hotels. How far is the Hard Rock from the strip (where all the action is!!) Is the pool still open this time of the year? How about the planet Hollywood? Do they have a pool as nice looking as at the Hard Rock? Both Hotels have casinos, right? Which Casino is better? Do they have cheap craps tables and poker rooms with tournaments?
Please let me know which of these 2 is better ... oh and ... do the rooms really look as great as in the pictures? The cheap ones too?
Thank youuuuuu :D|||I would choose Planet Hollywood. Hard Rock is really not a practical walking distance to the strip, and there are no shuttles to take you from there to the strip. It's a little over a mile from Hard Rock to the strip.
However, the pool at PH is not nearly as nice as the pool at Hard Rock. This isn't really pool season in Vegas anyway though. Some hotels keep one heated pool open through the winter months, but the hours usually vary day-to-day depending on the weather conditions. There are not usually services such as poolside drinks and food available then either. I wouldn't make the pool a big factor in your decision if you're going between November and March.
Both casinos are nice. I think the one at Hard Rock is more "fun" but the one at PH is perfectly fine. I don't know that either has particularly cheap tables, but both do have poker rooms.
Even the standard rooms at both hotels are very nice. Most rooms have a bathtub, but not all have a jacuzzi tub. You usually need an upgraded room for that.
If you plan to spend a lot of time on the strip, which is where all the action is, then I would choose PH over Hard Rock for sure.|||Stayed at both. Had a suite in PH with a tub, and a room at Hard Rock w/o a tub (but there are like 2-3 towers at HRH). Both pools are prob. closed in November.
PH has a great location across from new City Center, also has shows, shopping, places to eat & drink. HRH had a cool young crowd, decent restaurants...maybe a good place for seeing a concert, but def. have to cab it anywhere you may wanna go.
Good luck!|||I would suggest Planet Hollywood. Though both hotels are nice, PH is in such a better location and basically in the center of everything the Strip has to offer. Here's a quick link to a promotional offers that might save you some money. Have fun!
http://www.VegasCodes.com|||Hard Rock is not walking distance to Strip No pool is open in winter
PH is very nice and easy walk to other Strip hotels
ALL hotels have casinos
There is NO cheap craps or poker on Strip and tournaments are limited, each hotel may have one periodically
All rooms are showers
