I am staying at the stratosphere the first three nights and i have to deciede between planet hollwood or the golden nugget for the last night.|||For me the decision would be easily the Planet Hollywood Casino. Here are some of the reasons:

1. As someone said, it is in VERY close proximity to Bellagio (across the street) and is also very close to Paris (next casino over), MGM Grand, NewYorkNewYork, etc. Very good location on the strip.

2. Has some of the best shopping (aside from Caesar's Forum) on the Strip. It has a large selection of stores, and they are NOT all fancy and overpriced (as you will find at Bellagio and Venetian)

3. They have one of the best buffets in Vegas. The price is actually a little cheaper than some other casinos (like Wynn or Paris) but the quality is just as good and even better for certain things. If you have a rich palette, then Wynn is your bet - but if you're like me and you like good food and great quality, but not all that fancy stuff like fish eggs and proscuito (which I like, but not at a buffet) then this place is the best around. Kabobs, fresh made cotton candy, mediterrean rice, fresh pasta, and sauteed chicken and meats. Yum.

4. Good atmosphere and newly remodeled casino. The casino has been renovated and vastly improved since it used to be the Aladdin. The decor is modern now and the general crowd there is laid back and fun.

5. The value of the hotel is good. The price they charge is a good bargain for all you get. The rooms are really nice (also remodeled) with new furniture and great views of the city (consequence of being in prime location on the strip).

Have fun, I love vegas. Wish i was going. Hope this helps.|||Stay at Planet Hollywood it's on the strip, within walking distance of Caesars, Belliago, Paris etc. Golden Nugget is downtown at Fremont street experience.|||Planet Hollywood is on the strip near more of the big casinos. The Golden Nugget is Downtown and you would have to take a cab or shuttle to the strip. By that time you might be through with the strip anyway. Downtown are a lot of the older Casinos, It's actually kind of cool to see old style Vegas. Also there is a light show on Fremont Street, Street vendors, etc. from 6-12. Have Fun!!!|||Planet Hollywood would be my choice - it's mid strip and has some really great room rates right now. I've looked at the room photos and it looks pretty deluxe.|||Just stay at a non- expensive hotel, like golden nugget|||PH|||I stayed at the Alladin before it switched to Planet Hollywood.
The room was nicer than the Tropicana, Treasure Island and the Sahara which I have all stayed in. Wasnt very crowded, not too many kids either running around. Location is great as mentioned above.

If you are looking to spend time in old vegas (Freemont St) then the Nugget is probably the nicest hotel in that area. Great gambling atmosphere but it gets crowded around there because of the "Freemont St. Experience" show overhead.

My vote: Planet Hollywood|||Planet Hollywood!|||I have never really about staying at the Stratosphere, it is not close enough to the strip. Planet Hollywood I would think is great. What about the Imperial Palace? It is central strip?|||Planet Hollywood.
I love it here and live here and hate to say bad things about my town.
Golden Nugget even with the renovations is a dump.
sorry. but it is. The buffet food is awful.
PH is a four star location.|||Planet Hollywood by far!. Be careful around the Strat at night. It's not the best area on the Strip. You should absolutely check out this site before you go. I've listed it below. And prepare to spend HOURS at this site, especially the Question and Answer section... Like Vegas itself, you won't want to leave it once you start looking through it!|||Stratosphere is absolutely horrible, I sent a week there in April and I will never go back. That being said, it depends on what you want to do. If all you want to do is gamble I would go to the nugget. But if you're looking for clubs and parties I would stay at planet hollywood.|||I've stayed at the Nugget, it's a nice place plus you can see the world's largest gold nugget.
