I will be going to Vegas May 31st - June 4th this coming summer and was wondering if anyone had been to either of these hotels? I'm thinking about staying at either Planet Hollywood or MGM Grand. And also any tips on when I should book? I checked the dates on Expedia a couple of weeks ago and Planet Hollywood was like almost 400 bucks a person (including flight), but then I checked today and it was like 305 dollars a person. Is it better to book sooner, or wait? I'm getting my tax return Friday so I will be able to book any time after that.
Thanks.|||I've stayed at both and each has many different attractions and amenities. PH is newer (actually, it was the former Aladdin casino/hotel) and probably better suited for the hipper crowds (jmo). It's also more centrally located on the strip than MGM Grand. MGM Grand is one of the largest in Las Vegas and offers plenty to do, see and play. So, it comes down to you. You can't go wrong with either choice. As for when to go, you'll have to keep checking around and even on the actual casino websites too as prices and packages change frequently. Have fun.|||I'm also heading to Vegas and was gonna go for the MGM Grand, but then I came across the Rio Hotel and casino, it's a beauty - It isn't located directly on the Strip but its certainly not far from it at all. There's a complimentary shuttle bus that can take you to various parts of the strips if walking doesn't suit. Also read a review on Trip Advisor from a guy that's stayed in both the MGM and the Rio, and the Rio was his preferred hotel. See what you think, I've included the hotels website.
Booked online through Travelsupermarket.com about a month ago (Im going in September) and got return flight and 14 nights hotel for 拢760|||MGM has a much better pool area but the hotel itself is so far from the strip because the property is so huge. PH is right on the strip and not a far trek to get to and from the hotel. Book now. Prices are low both airline and hotel at this point. Waiting will have you pay more for your flight as prices rise the closer to the departure date.|||The MGM is better, in my opinion. It has a direct link with the Las Vegas Monorail, but it also has a wonderful buffet, as well as some nice rooms that are way better than any other Vegas rooms I've been in.|||MGM definitely. I've stayed at the MGM and the MGM Signature (suites and penthouse suites) their hotels are amazing as well as their casino.|||I would go to PH. Center strip, all brand new after being remodeled from the Aladdin.
MGM is nearly 20 years old and insanely crowded all the time.|||Never been to PH but MGM is really cool--and if you like sushi, they have amazing sushi at Grand Wok. And their pad thai is amazing too.|||PH definitely.|||Both are fine but hands up for MGM, it is really great. Regarding your price check also http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for hotel promo codes, this can save money.
