Thinking of a Vegas vacation this summer any good hotels not to expensive...|||Mandalay Bay is the best value for your money in luxury resorts.

Rio is probably the second best value but is about a mile off the strip on Flamingo Road.

I've stayed at both properties and have no complaints.

I've stayed at Luxor three times, the pyramid rooms are fun. There's a ceiling on the 25th floor though and below the 10th floor you might get too much noise from the casino, so ask for a room between 10 and 24 if you get a Luxor pyramid room. There's nothing wrong with Luxor but Rio has much bigger rooms and Mandalay Bay is way nicer in every way.

If you want to be at the center of the strip, try Bally's or Bill's. I've stayed at both of those places too. Bill's has two slow creaky old elevators but otherwise is the best budget property on the strip. The rooms are twice as nice as other budget properties. Bally's rooms aren't as nice as Bill's but are bigger. Bally's is also a bit more upscale of a property than Bill's.|||If you want a nice hotel at a cheap rate the best choices on the Strip are Montecarlo (good location too, right in front of PH and next to citycentre), then perhaps Harrah's (but not as nice as Montecarlo) if you can get a remodelled room. Bally's ok only if you get a remodelled room; the old rooms are great in that they are HUGE, but if you want a top-quality mattress etc you won't find it in the 'old' rooms.

Slightly more expensive but still a great deal are Luxor and, these days, NYNY (but the rooms at NYNY can be very small though very nice and modern). Mandalay Bay offers fantastic deals (about 69 dollars) for the fantastic rooms they have (top quality, large, sheer luxury) - it's South Strip, though, and some people only want the central locations, which is strange because you can move South to Centre Strip really easily.

Excalibur is the cheapest and it's a great deal if you get one of the best remodelled rooms, otherwise it's not so great and of course it's chaotic rather than pleasing.

Slightly off Strip you have Rio (good value for money and definitely good rooms) and next to it it's Gold Coast, excellent value for money; they both have frequent shuttles to mid Strip so the location is fine.

Mirage is excellent in so many ways, and it's more or less in the price range of Mandalay Bay. Treasure Island also offers fantastic deals these days although its rooms are a little small I think although very nice.

Stratosphere offers good deals and it has large rooms, all nicely appointed, but it's North Strip, of course.

Downtown the best value for money and for what you actually get (a large nice room) is El Cortez. There's another hotel downtown which has really nice rooms (I am NOT talking about the overpriced Golden Nugget) and really modern now but I can't remember its name, although the rooms are a little small|||Balley's is centrally located, across the street from Caesars, good rooms, great restaurants, fair shopping. Also consider the Mandalay Bay, they have the best pool, and the Mirage, great pool, moderate prices. Off strip like the Palms, or Rio are great, but difficult to walk to from the strip. Enjoy.|||go on all these travel sites travel worm is the best one for our city im a las vegas vet and i use them all the time when im creep'n or if you got one you use ,use them = we have 4 strips the boulder strip ,the downtown strip, the las vegas strip(the big end),the rancho strip, and all these strips have casino resorts big, medium,or neighborhood casinos from the top to the end of each strip and they all network with each others they shuttle&comp anywere to keep our tourists rite===$$$$$ come and win sum of these billions here|||I'd check the rates at Flamingo - it's right across the street from Caesars (great location) and has a great pool area, but the rates are usually very good. The GO rooms have been more recently renovated and are particularly nice.|||Ballys agree with the other poster. Central location and has all the stuff.
another option is Flamingo.|||Like you just answered your own question!
