Do you remember the bombings in the mid and late 90s around South Africa and Cape Town in particular. They were pipe bombs that exploded in St. Elmos - Camps Bay, Planet Hollywood - V&A Waterfront, New York Bagels - Sea Point etc. etc.

Did they ever catch the responsible people?
What was it all about?
Was it only in predominantly European areas?|||If i remember correctly those bombings were caused by PAGAD(people against gansterism and drugs)who are a fundamentalist muslim organisation. That is why they targeted mainly tourist areas and organisations that were owned by Americans.|||http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/africa/9808/26/鈥?/a>

found these sites for you to read up on|||PAGAD??|||I've always wondered if those bombings were in response to the National Party's strong showing in the Cape in the 1994 elections, which left the ANC unable to change the constitution as they did not win two thirds of the popular vote.

They never did catch the perpetrators, did they?
